#cafe #city/kansai/kyoto [Waguri Senmon Saori (紗織)](https://wagurisenmon-saori.com/) is a cafe specializing in [Japanese chestnuts (栗)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castanea_crenata) (with a focus on [Mont Blanc](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mont_Blanc_(dessert))). I ordered their Autumn special, which was a Mont Blanc over a pie with a side of chestnut ice cream with cherry sauce. ![[saori special.jpg]] They had two types of chestnuts that they used for their Mont Blanc. Whereas my dish was made with the standard chestnuts, Simon wanted to try their standard Mont Blance made with their premium chestnuts. ![[saori premium.jpg]] ![[saori inside.jpg]] Both of us fully enjoyed our desserts here. Another cool thing about this cafe is that after ordering, they ask if you'd like to see your dessert get prepared. We said yes, so they told us they'd grab us when our dessert was being prepared. We were sitting upstairs, but they later brought us downstairs to see them squeeze the chestnut paste over our desserts. ![[saori process.gif]]
