#restaurant #city/kansai/nara [Men-ya K (麺屋 K)](https://www.instagram.com/menya__k) is a ramen shop located in Nara. They have a 3-phase queuing system. First, you write your name on the waiting list. Then as your place in the waiting list is coming up, they’ll call on you (people usually just waited around the street outside the restaurant) to order your food via a vending machine. You pay for your food, the vending machine gives you the tickets for your food, you give the tickets to the staff and they give you a buzzer. Then you can wander around the nearby shopping area, and your buzzer will go off telling you to return to the restaurant because seats are available. I ordered the curry ramen (¥1150). I quite liked this ramen. The curry flavour was strong—like they used more curry powder than Japanese curry I’ve tried in the past. ![[menyak curry.jpg]] Simon ordered the chicken and fish shio tsukemen (¥1150). He thought it was okay, but regretted not ordering ramen instead. ![[menyak tsukemen.jpg]]
