Afterwards, Simon went for a quick bath at [[Takegawara Onsen (竹瓦温泉)]] while I walked around to explore some of the shop areas around Beppu. The hotel had a shuttle to the JR station and bus loop, so we took that where we caught the bus to [[Yufuin (湯布院)]]. In [[Yufuin (湯布院)]], we put our stuff in coin lockers, then did some window shopping through the city. We got a really nice soft serve ice cream from [[Trace∞]]. We also tried a curry pan from [[揚げ日和(カレーパン)]]. We stopped by several places including [[Yufuin Shōwa-kan Museum (湯布院昭和館)]], [[Yufuin Floral Village (湯布院フローラルヴィレッジ)]], and [[猫猫寺湯布別院]]. Then we caught the bus to [[Kurokawa Onsen (黒川温泉)]] _(the bus rides today were beautiful today—we went through the mountains)_. ![[oct 7 bus 1.jpg]] ![[oct 7 bus 2.jpg]] ![[oct 7 bus 3.jpg]] We checked into [[Oyado Noshiyu (お宿 のし湯)]] and explored the town a bit before returning to our hotel for the included dinner.
