# [[2026-10-03|<<]] | Sunday, October 4, 2026 | [[2026-10-05|>>]] #city/kansai/kyoto #city/kansai/nara In the morning, we packed up our stuff and dropped off our luggage at our next hotel, [[Matsumoto Ryokan (松本旅館)]]. _We booked this one last minute. When we first booked [[Yadoya Kikokuso (宿屋 枳殻荘)]], we had a specific itinerary in mind. But we ended up booking a later ferry and spending an extra day in Kyoto, but by that time, the original hotel didn’t have any space left._ Then we headed out for a day trip in Nara. [2 years ago when we went to Nara](https://japanadventure2024.com/Attractions/Nara+Park+(%E5%A5%88%E8%89%AF%E5%85%AC%E5%9C%92)), we went to Kintetsu Nara Station and made a brief visit to the park. This time, we used the other train station—JR Nara Station—and we spent much longer exploring Nara. We did spend longer in [[Nara Park (奈良公園)]], where we saw [[Kasuga Taisha (春日大社)]], [[Tōdai-ji (東大寺)]], and [[Nigatsu-do (二月堂)]]. However, we also spent more time in Nara’s downtown as well. We did a lot of (mostly window) shopping and eating, but we also visited [[奈良町にぎわいの家]]—a historic home in the city. We had lunch at [[Menya K]]. After exploring Nara, we returned to our hotel to check in. Then we had dinner at [[いち藤]] across the street.
