# [[2026-10-01|<<]] | Friday, October 2, 2026 | [[2026-10-03|>>]] #city/kansai/osaka #city/kansai/kyoto We started our day early, and it became a bit chaotic. We were supposed to catch a train from Kyoto to Himeji to meet our guide for a tour of [[Himeji Castle (姫路城)]]. [There was an accident that shutdown the train line](https://www.asahi.co.jp/webnews/pages/abc_62834.html), so we ended up running around Kyoto Station trying to figure out how to buy Shinkansen tickets so that we would arrive in time to meet our guide. As it turns out, we hopped on an express version of the Shinkansen which blasted us right past Himeji and all the way to Okayama. So we hopped on the next Shinkansen back to Himeji. We successfully connected with our guide, albeit we were late. For something quick to eat, our guide recommended we check out [[Takata-no-baba (高田の馬場)]]. We had a quick lunch there before rushing to Osaka to catch the [[Hideaki Tokunaga Concert (徳永英明 コンサートツアー2026)]]. The train delays were still on-going, so we ended up arriving in Osaka later than expected. We took a taxi from the train station to the concert hall to get there faster--but we still got seated around 10 minutes late. 2 songs into the show, they paused the concert. A few minutes later, they announced that they were canceling the show. Before heading back to Kyoto, we decided to stop by a confectionary in Osaka. So we took the subway over to that shop... ...only to discover that the shop happened to be closed that day. (Normally, the shop would be open that time and day of the week.) _Lots of chaos today._ 🤣 We headed back to Kyoto where we wrapped up our day by grabbing dinner at [[Takocho]].
